All Sony has to do is to produce a 24 -100 f2.8 but for some same strange reason its always 24-70 f2.8 or now f2 who cares o innovation

This whole fixed lens thing is getting silly. Rx1rii is how old and it still beats every fixed lens to date. It's also smaller than the x100 minus the lens protrusion. Better AF than the q3 and everything else and I'm sure it's better than this new Fuji MF.

i can not understand this consept. 4000+$ for a fixed lens camera? why? It s not about young or elder people. It is about people who does not care about money.

IMO Fuji should go with a 28mm F2.5 lens. This puts in as being more versatile for low light. The size doesn’t really matter here because if it does, there’s already a X100. The most important is if this fixed MF is part of the current generation or the first of the next generation. IMO the current generation have been MVPs; the autofocus issues is a clear manifestation of this wrong approach by Fuji’s execs. IMO if it’s just a MVP, it’s an irrelevant product. Some people will no doubt still buy it but it’s just digging Fuji’s future further into likely muck. IMO Fuji needs to develop a fixed MF product that has a true purpose beyond being a novelty. Maybe if it’s a 102mp pano camera (a la Xpan) Or a genuine tool within the GFX scope. If it’s just a bunch of parts from the GFX 100S II with a lens slapped on as a MVP, it would IMO be missing the point. For example, fixed MF as a documentary camera. So 4:3 sensor. Engineer the leaf shutter to be whisper quiet, effectively silent unless the user literally has their ear to the lens. Give the EVF good specs like the Z6III’s + A9III (good colour, high resolution), OVF for instant real-time view. Make the rear screen tilt 90 degrees both horizontal and vertical with good resolution. Ways for fast power on, long battery life. Weather sealing, IBIS, good snap focus features, 8-10, 15 fps, decent buffer depth, buffer clear speeds of 2 seconds (go with internal SSD or CFExpress if it’s the only way to achieve so), dual slots, C2PA, decent passable video without a load of rolling shutter (what if it had a second sensor path that was an APSC sensor like the XS to handle video, or a partial stacked 100mp sensor - something innovative to solve the longstanding weakness of MF for video). Also with redesigned menus UI (get rid of the bad typography, take a leaf from Hasselbald’s design) and AF issues fixed. A product like that can be priced above GFX 100SII, maybe even the same or very close to GFX100II.

Meanwhile, Sony don’t wanna continue the RX1R line up and holding firmware update to make profit 💀

Sounds too good to be true ... but this would be my go to video lens. I rarely shoot video with aperture below F2.8 :D.

A 28-200 G2 with improved corner performance and VC would be a great news as well 😅

I wish Tamron or Sigma came up with a 35-85 f2. Anything wider would make the lens bigger and heavier. I would probably even take a 2.8 version if the size is small. It would be perfect for my travel/environmental portrait kind of photography.

The Global Economies have been in a DEBT spiral for DECADES. But what usually happens is that the Fear Mongers, not saying YOU, but those that Control Things have ZERO problems with letting the Global Economies TANK. Here's why, it's literally a Garage Sale for them with them Buying Things for Pennies on the Dollar. Almost nobody really NEEDS to buy a NEW camera, it's basically a Luxury Item.

So why are they basically going to cannibalize their their other lens the 35-150mm?..just to have a little more on the longer end..seems to be not worth it...and then you have the other new lens the Tamron's 28-300mm f/4-7.1?..

I am very satisfied with the Sony 85mm F1.8. I gues there is no better lens with this price/performance-ratio. The only downside is, that it is not weather-sealed. I don't need F1.4.

As others have said the 35-150 exists and since it's even faster I would estimate that this lens is in practically the same housing at the 35-150 since it's slightly slower. It should be the same size roughly and weigh about the same. This could be a fantastic lens and is very realistic provided that the optical formula is done correctly. If it were comparable to the 35-150 but perhaps cost slightly less that would be incredible.

And OM System has no problems :D So strange nobody mention M43 sensors and act like it doesn't exist. Is that global planned hate on that sensors by full-frame lobby?

28-180 f2.8? I wonder the size and weight. If 70-200 f2.8 are already the size we familiar with… then 28-180 f2.8 can only be many times bigger and heavier. Unless tech has advance so much.

Don't think this lens is real at all. It would be *huge* and extremely expensive, especially for a Tamron lens, which doesn't have the brand cachet of something like a Canon L or Sony G-Master to "justify" such a price (not saying Tamron doesn't make incredible lenses). Personally, I think the zooms which would benefit most from an update would be the 17-28 f2.8 & 28-200. Give both linear motors and the 28-200 VC.

Not sure even a wedding photographer would want to lug around a lens of that size. If real, it seems to be targeted at “one lens” amateur photographers. I sure wouldn’t want to use it to walk around while traveling. And sports photographers wouldn’t like the fps limits on Sony bodies.

My Tamron 35-150 F2-2.8 is easily my most massive lens. But it's absolutely fantastic in my use cases (nightclub and indoor performances). In my circumstances I'd prefer the extension to 180, the 35mm end of my lens is sufficient for me. But if they can keep up the image quality while NOT making it heavier, I'm all in.

Any new zoom lesne for APS-C ?
